This policy explains what personal data Linkamoon collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have. For privacy questions, contact privacy@linkamoon.com.

1. What we collect

• Account data: phone number or email, hashed verification codes, date of birth, gender, country, city, language.
• Profile data: name, photos, bio, interests, matching intent, occupation, education, and any other field you choose to fill in.
• Usage data: likes, matches, messages, blocks, reports, push subscriptions, and timestamps.
• Location data (mutual opt-in): coarse, neighborhood-level coordinates when you cross paths with another user. Crossings are historical only — never real-time. Live coordinates of other users are never stored or transmitted.
• Technical data: IP address, device, browser, app version, crash diagnostics (via Sentry).
• Billing data: handled by Stripe — we receive only subscription status, plan, and the last four digits of the card.

2. Why we use it and legal basis

Under GDPR and the UAE PDPL, we rely on:

• Performance of contract — to create your account, run matching, deliver messages, and process subscriptions.
• Legitimate interests — to prevent abuse, secure the Service, and improve features. You may object at any time.
• Consent — for optional features such as push notifications and location-based crossings. You may withdraw consent at any time.
• Legal obligation — to respond to lawful requests and comply with tax, accounting, and consumer law.

3. Who we share it with

• Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. (Ireland) — for subscription billing. Stripe receives your email and payment details directly; we never store your card.
• Apple Push, Google FCM, Mozilla Web Push — to deliver notifications.
• OpenStreetMap / Nominatim — for reverse geocoding crossing pins. Only pin coordinates are sent; your identity is never sent.
• Sentry — to receive crash diagnostics. We scrub personal identifiers from error reports.
• Hosting provider in Germany — to operate the servers.
• Competent authorities — only when compelled by valid legal process or to protect users from imminent harm.

We do not sell your data and do not share it with advertising networks.

4. International transfers

Your data is primarily stored on servers in Germany (EU). Some processors (Stripe, Sentry, Apple, Google, Mozilla) may process data in the US or other countries under European Commission adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses.

5. Retention

Account, profile, and usage data are kept while your account is active. On deletion, your profile, photos, likes, matches, and messages are removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or fraud prevention (typically up to 7 years for billing records). Crash diagnostics retained 90 days; access logs retained 30 days.

6. Your rights

• Access, correct, or delete your data.
• Restrict or object to specific processing, including profiling.
• Receive a portable copy of your data — email privacy@linkamoon.com.
• Withdraw consent (e.g. notifications, location) at any time.
• Lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (in the EEA, your national DPA; in the UAE, the UAE Data Office).

7. Security

All connections use TLS. Authentication uses JWT in HttpOnly cookies — never exposed to client-side scripts. We do not store passwords (sign-in is passwordless via one-time codes). Production access is restricted to authorised engineers and is logged.

8. Children

Linkamoon is strictly for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we discover such an account, we delete it.

9. Automated decision-making

We use automated systems to rank discovery and detect spam or abuse. These do not produce legal or similarly significant effects without human review. You may request human review of any account action.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced in-app and the "Last updated" date above will reflect the change.
